Carol Aileen Rostetter

Carol Aileen Rostetter, 75, died February 7, 2016 at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. She was born on September 19, 1940 in Newton, the daughter of Wilbur Lewis and Wilhelmina Marie (Wiegand) Prouty. 

Carol was raised on a farm near Hesston and graduated from Newton High School. On September 28, 1957, she married Robert W. Rostetter in Hesston. He preceded her in death on March 7, 1999. Carol was past owner/operator of South Dodge Phillips 66, Turn-A-Round, South Gas-N-Go, Affordable Auto Sales, and Bob’s Auto Service all of Dodge City. She also worked at Montgomery Wards. 

She was a member of the United Brethern Evangelico Church of Hesston, Order of Eastern Star #97, St. Bernard Lodge #222 AF&AM, and the Guardian Bethel #32 Jobs Daughters all of Dodge City.  

Carol is survived by a daughter, Nancy J. Rostetter of Dodge City; two sons, Tim J. Rostetter and wife Vanetia and Todd R. Rostetter both of Dodge City; three sisters, Elizabeth Schierling of Wichita, Marilyn VanRossun of Moundridge, and Donna Tatro of McPherson; and five grandchildren, Wesley A. Rostetter and Zachary J. Rostetter both of Manhattan, Robert Wyatt Rostetter of Hays, Katherine S. Rostetter and Maxx M. Rostetter both of Dodge City. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; two sisters, Jean A. Friesen and Mary K. Ballard; and two brothers, Ted Prouty and Robert (Bob) Prouty. 

Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home, Dodge City on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. with Rev. Jeff Turner presiding. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, February 11, 2016 from noon to 8:00 P.M.
