Busters picked third, Conqs seventh, in preseason poll

Wichita, Kan.–Friday was the annual KJCCC Media Day held at Newman University in Wichita. Along with the eight conference schools, the three schools from Iowa were also invited to participate in the media day, as the schools previewed their seasons.

Hutchinson was picked to be the preseason conference champion, while Butler was tabbed second and Garden City third. Dodge City was picked seventh in the preseason poll.

There are three new coaches in the league this year. Dodge City will be led by Ricky Coon, Garden City by Thomas Minnick and Independence by Kiyoshi Harris.

Dodge City will open up their 2019 season on the road against conference foe Independence on August 24, while Garden City hosts perennial power Snow College out of Utah on August 24.
