Garden City, Kan (westernkansasnews.com)-Garden City freshman goalie Ashlie Rojas had to make a massive change. The lifelong Texan, made the move to middle America for a chance at a four-year opportunity. That move is paying dividends already.

Rojas, who led the nation with 244 saves, was named to the All-Jayhawk first-team on Monday.

“I’ve come a long way from high school to now,” Rojas said. “And making first-team all conference was a great accomplishment for me.”

Rojas also recorded an .875 save percentage, which ranked 20th in the country.

Her teammate Sandra Mendoza was named to the second team. She netted a team-best 14 goals.
