Buster Women Win, Men Lose in Overtime at Cloud

Concordia, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Garden City Community College Basketball team continues to build momentum winning their eighth game in the last ten and improving to 3-2 in the Jayhawk West with a 71-60 win over Cloud County Saturday.

Garden City’s Sandra Davis scored 20 connecting on 10-of-12 shots from the field. Jasmine Christmas and Loysha Morris each chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds for the Busters. Garden City also held Cloud to just 27 percent from the field and 5-of-30 in their three point attempts.

In a game that saw five ties and 12 leads changes in the first half, Cloud pulled away for most of the second half until Reuben King’s three late forced overtime

Cloud outscored Garden 15-8 in overtime and both teams dropped to 2-3 in conference with the T-birds 76-69 win. King scored 16 for Garden, but the guard tandem of Shaun Stewart Lorenzo Dillard combined for 58 of Cloud’s 76 points. In the end GCCC coach Brady Trinkle was disappointed they could not get the win.

Both the Garden City Men and Women go to Dodge City Wednesday. The women’s game begins the doubleheader at 6pm. Pre-game begins at 5:45 on KBUF 1030AM and westernkansasnews.com
