Buster Football Coach Tatum Resigns to Take Misssisssippi Delta Job
Garden City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–After leading the Garden City Community College football team to a 7-4 record and a Mississippi Bowl championship in 2012, Broncbuster head football coach Jeff Tatum announced Thursday night on the Busters Coaches Show that he has resigned and is taking the head coaching job at Mississippi Delta Community College.
Tatum came to Garden City in 2011 from Georgia Military, where he served as defensive coordinator. He heads to Mississippi Delta, where he played quarterback for the Trojans, and got his first coaching job.
The 2012 Kansas Jayhawk Conference Coach of the Year turned around a Busters football program in just two seasons and went 9-11 in that span. His first year, the Busters went 2-7 and failed to make the playoffs for the third straight season. Garden City went to a bowl game for the first time since 2005 and won a bowl game for the first time since 1999.
Mississippi Delta was 0-9 in 2012.
