Buster Basketball Teams Split With Pratt in Tough Conference Games-Audio

Garden City, KS (www.westernkansasnews.com) -It was two really tough Jayhawk Conference games last night at Perryman Athletic Complex on the campus of Garden City Community College, as the Buster Basketball teams split with the Pratt Beavers. The No. 10 Lady Busters weathered a storm and two players fouling out of the game, with only 7 players on the bench, to beat the Lady Beavers 67-57. The Buster women were led by four players in double figures led by sophomore Tamara Jones with another double-double 14 points and 11 boards, Angelique Green threw down 14 as well and Tahlia Pope added 13 and sophomore point guard Mikel Chinn chipped in 12 with 6 assists. The Lady Busters move to 18-1 on the year 4-1 in Jayhawk Conference play. Garden City head Coach Aluara Sharp talks about her team showing true grit and maturity in a close game with a physical team.

The Garden City Community College men suffered a hard fought overtime loss 71-69 to the Pratt Beavers, dropping their record to 10-9 overall 2-3. The Busters received 26 points from Jady Cathey and 12 from sophomore point guard Frank Agholor, but mistakes down the stretch of regulation and in overtime cost the Busters their 3rd win in a row. Busters Head Coach Rand Chappell talks about the disappointing conclusion in their hard fought home game.
