Buster baseball roars past Panhandle; softball splits with Seward
Goodwell, OK (westernkansasnews.com)-Call it whatever you want, but what Chris Finnegan’s Busters did on the road Wednesday is pretty impressive-regardless of their opponent.
Garden City scored in all but one inning-blowing past Oklahoma Panhandle State’s Junior Varsity squad 20-3.
“We got some guys in there for some much-needed work,” Finnegan said afterwards. “We did okay.”
Okay is an understatement-considering Garden City () scored 20 runs on 18 hits, including a nine-run fifth that saw 13 batters come to the plate.
Madison Spencer got the start-allowing a run on just two hits in three innings of work. Brad Spires followed that up with three innings of one-hit relief.
