Buffs golf WAC Champs

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-At this point, maybe you can call it a local dynasty; at least by Western Athletic Conference standards.

For the sixth time in seven years, Garden City High School girls golf are WAC champs after shooting a field-best 186 on Tuesday; beating second-place Great Bend by 10 strokes. 

Danielle Gaspar led the way with a 43 following by freshman Elena Lemke’s 44. 

Hannak Leiker and Kendra Martin were both named All-Conference while Walker Frey was named coach of the year. 

Maddie Gerber, Lemke and Gaspar were named honorable mention. 

Next up: 6A regionals at Mariah Hills in Dodge City on Monday, October 12 beginning at 10 a.m.
