Buffs golf runs away with team title in Great Bend

Garden City, KS-You cannot keep a great team down for long. 

After a disappointing showing at Dodge City last week, Garden City rebounded in a big way on Tuesday. 

The Buffaloes equaled their best team score in four years, shooting a 294 en route to the team championship at the Great Bend Invitational at Stone Ridge Golf Club. 

Taylor Larsen and Sion Audrain each shot 70 to pace the Buffaloes. They finished 1 and 2 respectively. Logan Durst came in sixth with rounds of 39 and 36 while Mason Shaddix fired a 79; Reid Richmeier 82 and Tyler Morren a 91. 

“We knew we had it in us,” Larsen said. “All of our guys really stepped up.”

Hays finished second followed by Dodge City, Liberal, Great Bend and Salina South.
