Buffaloes sweep Scott City in Roundball Classic finale
Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) Both Garden City basketball teams picked up wins on Saturday night over Scott City in the final games of the Clarion Inn Roundball Classic.
The Lady Buffaloes(3-3) finished the Classic going 3-0 with a 59-53 win in overtime over the Lady Beavers(3-1). Garden City trailed 43-37 entering the fourth quarter and then the Calzonetti sisters took over. Josie and Julie combined for 17 of the lady buffaloes 22 points in the fourth quarter and overtime. Garden City led 53-51 with 13 seconds to go in the fourth quarter then Bailey Latta hit a runner to force overtime. Garden City outscored Scott City 6-0 in overtime for the win.
Josie Calzonetti finished with 21 points, giving her 64 points in the three games of the Roundball Classic. Calzonett was named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. Julie Calzonetti finished with 13 points and Beth Guymon added 11.
The Garden City boys jumped out to an early 13-2 lead and cruised to a 62-27 win over Scott City. The Buffaloes finished the Rounball Classic 2-1 while Scott City went 0-3.
Garden City(4-2) was led by Jayden Crook with 21 points, hitting six three pointers. Garret Doll had 11 points, Jarrod Springston and Derrick Sexton both chipped in with 8 points. Springston was named to the all-tournament team. The full tournament teams are listed below.

Both Garden City teams are back in action on January 5 at Great Bend.
