Buffalo wrestling shows promise at KC Stampede

Kansas City-There has definitely been a learning curve for the Garden City High School wrestling team this season as Carlos Prieto’s squad navigates through the early part of their schedule.

On Friday and Saturday, the Buffaloes have five wrestlers qualify for the gold bracket. Steven Sellars placed 11th at 106; Silas Pineada was ninth at 113; Jacob Holt was fifth at 126; Trey Medina 16th at 145 and Curtis Near came in ninth at 152.

Garden City returns to action on Thursday, Jan. 4 at rival Dodge City.
