Garden City, KS-It was a bittersweet night for the Garden City volleyball team.

The Buffaloes rolled through Colby 25-13, 25-14; disposed of Great Bend 25-16 and 25-14 before finishing off Liberal 25-17, 25-27 and 25-23. But the wins came at a price as outside hitter Reagan Karlin suffered an injury.

“We had some girls that had to step up tonight,” setter Remi Vargas said. “I think we did well, especially with a lot of players out of position.”

Vargas finished with seven aces and 74 assists in the three matches. Julie Calzonetti picked up the slack with Karlin out, tallying 27 kills.

With the wins, Garden City improved to 4-1.
