Buffalo track finishes runner-up at WAC

Dodge City, KS-Both the Garden City girls and boys track teams finished second at the Western Athletic Conference meet at Memorial Stadium on Thursday.

Raegan Linenberger took home gold in the high jump, Annie Gerber was champ in the pole vault and second in the 100-meter hurdles, Thomas Turpin and Jaycob Vargas finished 1 and 2 in the boys pole vault, Taylor Savolt won gold in the long jump, triple jump, 100-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles, and Jarrod Springston was second in the boys triple jump. Demarcus Elliot left no doubt, winning the shot put while the boys 4×800 meter relay team of Jayvyn Contreras, Ethan Fisher, Mario Bustillos and Javier Cervantes finished first. Garrett Doll won both the 800 and 1600 meters and Nathaniel Hubbard was second in the 400 meters.

Dodge City won the girls team title and Liberal took home the boys crown.
