Broncbuster women fall at South Plains
Levelland, TX(westernkansasnews.com) The Garden City Community College women’s basketball took their first loss of the season on Tuesday night to South Plains 60-35.
The Lady Broncbusters struggled to shoot all night shooting just 13-53 from the field. South Plains jumped out to an 18-4 lead in the first quarter and it would never get closer than that.
Coach Mitchell said post game that you can’t blame the loss on offense.
“We have to figure out how to win games when we aren’t making shots, you can never blame it offense, we preach defense all the time. We fell down early and just felt like we never showed up tonight.”
Daz’Monique Johnson led GCCC with 11 points and 5 rebounds in the loss.
The GCCC women(2-1) begin conference play on Saturday at Butler at 5:30 p.m.
