Broncbuster guard Fleming earns weekly honor
Garden City, KS-As a freshman, Josh Fleming burst onto the scene for Brady Trenkle in 2015.
Through four games of his sophomore campaign, nothing much has changed.
Fleming was named the Jayhawk Conference player of the week after avering 19.8 points per game while shooting 53 percent from the field during Garden City’s 4-0 start. He’s also drilled 18-of-29 from 3-point land and has 12 steals.
“One thing about Josh is that his defense is so much better,” Trenkle said. “Now if I can get him to do that every game, watch out. His shooting is ridiculous.”
His best game came against arguably one of the most talented teams that Garden City will face all year. Fleming scored 29 points and nailed six treys in the Broncbusters rout of Sunrise Christian, the same squad that’s gone 4-1 against NJCAA competition this season.
“He (Fleming) was so good in that game,” Trenkle said. His shot was effortless.”
Fleming added 21 points vs. Kansas City before sandwiching in 17 and 12 vs. Bethel and Sterling College.
