Bridging the Gap on Point of Rocks

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Last week’s meeting made some  progress, but there is still a separation between the positions of KDOT to widen US Highway 83 from Cimarron to Dodge City and The Trails Association that wants to preserve Point of Rocks.  Kirk Hutchinson on K-DOT sums up where they stand.

Hutchinson knows it’s hard for K-DOT to budge from their position based on the volume of traffic anticipated in future years.

K-DOT is looking to get more input from both the commissions in both Dodge City and Ford County before coming up with a final plan.
