Bobby Loyd Wishon
Bobby Loyd Wishon, 87, died August 1, 2015 at Good Samaritan Center in Dodge City. He was born on August 13, 1927 in Seminole, Oklahoma, the son of Oliver Wade and Winnie Mae (Starkey) Wishon.
Bobby served in the United States Navy during World War II. He also served in the Army Reserve. Bobby married Leatha Thon and together they had 12 children. He later married Norma Ridgway. She survives. Bobby was a truck driver and then later worked at Walmart in Dodge City until retiring due to illness.
He was a member of the Bible Baptist Church.
Bobby and Leatha were the parents of the following children; Wanda Barton, Janet Goodman, Steve Wishon, Dan Wishon, Terry Wishon, Ronnie Wishon, Larry Wishon, Kent Wishon, Shelly Sparks, and Michael Wishon. He was the step father of Richard Avritt, Peggy Cecil, and Scott Avritt. Bobby is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two children, Bobby Dale Wishon and Laura Wishon.
Memorial graveside service will be held at Kansas Veterans’ Cemetery in Fort Dodge on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Shannon Clark presiding with inurnment to follow. Military Rites will be provided by Howard Gotschall Post #1714 V.F.W. and KSARNG Military Honors Program. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
