Board of Education, KASB Want 900 Million For School Funding

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Kansas Association of School Boards mirrored the number previously brought up by the State Board of Education asking for 900 million dollars be poured into education over two years. State Board Member Sally Cauble on how they came up with that figure.

Cauble realizes that is a bold amount, but there is a reason why the board believes so much is needed.

Cauble says another district has put fifty first graders together in an open classroom because that’s all they could afford.  The State Supreme Court will take up the issue of adequacy in the next couple of months.
