Black Hills Energy Scam
Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) A scam is targeting Black Hills Energy customers. Some customers have received phone calls from people claiming to be with Black Hills and demanding money for an overdue payment and threatening to cut off service.
Another scam through a phone call is telling customers they have overpaid and the only way to get a refund is to provide bank account or credit card information.
Black Hills Energy wants customers to know that any billing information they send out would be sent by mail. They would not make a phone call to notify customers.
If you receive a call from someone saying they are with Black Hills Energy demanding payment or asking for bank account or credit card information hang up and call Black Hills at 888-890-5554.
