Bishop Concerned About Kids As Family Makeup Changes
Wichita, KS (westernkansasnews.com) While state’s begin performing same-sex weddings after the US Supreme Court decision a lot has been discussed about the implications of allowing these unions, but there has not been much talk on how changing the family unit affects kids. Catholic Bishop Carl Kemme of the Wichita Diocese relates the impact to his own experience growing up in a traditional family.
Kimme believes some of the consequences could be far reaching.
Tied into the Supreme Court decision on same-sex marriage there is another concern the funding mechanism for churches could soon be at risk by losing tax exempt status.
If that happens the consequences could be far reaching.
Kemme is not sure if losing tax exempt status would force some Catholic Churches or other denominations to close.
