Betty Joanne Booth

Betty Joanne Booth, 76, daughter of the late Joseph and Fern (MacDonald) Killough, was born July 21, 1940 in Boise City, Ok and departed this life on April 30, 2017 at her home near Mountain Grove, Mo. She was 76 years, 9 months, and 9 days of age.
Betty was raised in Guymon, Ok and moved to Liberal, Ks when she was 16. She graduated from Liberal High School in 1957. Betty married William Booth on April 26, 1959 in Liberal, Ks. Seven children were born to this union.
Betty and Bill moved to McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, Ks while Bill served in the military. After his service they moved back to Liberal. Betty was a homemaker until 1978, when she and Bill purchased B & B Overnite Camp. They operated it together until they retired in October 2010. Following retirement, they moved to Mountain Grove, Mo to pursue their dream of having a farm and a nice spacious house.
Betty loved to read books and work crossword puzzles. She also enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking, and visiting with friends and family. She especially loved caring for her kids and grandkids.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Fern Killough, her sister-in-law, Betty Jean Handley, and by a good family friend and farm hand who was just as close as family, Eric Gardner.
She is survived by her husband of the home, William David Booth, her three daughters, Susan Booth of Liberal, Ks, Karen Eggers (Billy) of Marlow, Ok, and Melody Scharnhorst of Mountain Grove, Mo, her four sons, Riley Booth (Jimmie), and Terry Booth (Leticia) of Liberal, Ks, Steven Booth (Diana) of Seymour, Mo, and James Booth (Debra) of Turpin, Ok, , one brother, Leroy Killough of Sacramento, Ca, two sisters-in-law, Virginia Helsel of Liberal, Ks, and Sharon Wilkerson of Kelso, Wa, twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren, a special cousin, Barbara Maddox, her Uncle Keith MacDonald, and many other relatives, neighbors, and friends who will miss her dearly.
Graveside services will take place Saturday May 6th at 1:00pm at Liberal Cemetery with Pastor Bill Prater presiding. Viewing will be Friday at Miller Mortuary from 1-5pm.
