Betty Jane Baskin
Betty Jane Baskin, age 88, died Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, KS. She was born September 15, 1926 in Meade, KS, the daughter of Allan and Rhoda (Basinger) Seger. She attended school in Plains, KS. She had resided in Kansas, Wyoming, Colorado and Oklahoma. She worked for Wal-Mart, as a people greeter and for the Sands Motel and Restaurant, Gillette, WY, as a hostess.
She married Bernard Carlile on September 11, 1946 at Canadian, TX. She married Gene Baskin on December 9, 1973 in Brighton, CO. He died on April 26, 1993.
She loved her pets, working in her yard and taking trips. Square dancing was a passion of hers.
She was a member of the Paris and Squares and Yellow Rock Plus Square Dance Club.
Survivors include 2 Sons Thomas Hartnett and wife Virginia Houston, TX James Carlile and wife Theresa Liberal, KS 2 Daughters Sandra Dixon and husband Dale Mustang, OK Diana Elliott and husband Rick Liberal, KS
10 Grandchildren Christopher Ford, Bret Ford, Preston Ford, Tracie Cross, Chad Osier, Ashley Osier, Kaitlin Carlile, Robin Odom, Gina Dawson and Brad Dixon. 10 Great Grandchildren Chandler Ford, Sarah Ford, Lillian Ford, Brogan Dawson, Ella Dawson, Hadley Odom, Ashlynn Odom, Destiny Osier, Nataly Osier and Kora Osier. 13 Step Grandchildren and 8 Step Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, 2 Daughters Debra Osier and Rhonda Carlile, 2 Brothers Robert and Ralph Seger and Great Granddaughter Haley Harley.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Brenneman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jack Jacob, presiding. Burial will be in the Liberal Cemetery, Liberal, KS.
Visitation will be 10:00 am – 8:00 pm, Thursday and 9:00 am until service time on Friday at Brenneman Funeral Home.
