Betty E. Graves
Betty E. Graves, 75, died Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at Trinity Manor, Dodge City.
She was born September 7, 1941 at Dodge City, the daughter of Henry H. and Cynthia (Carroll) Drach. She attended country school in Hodgeman County through the 8th grade and was a graduate of Dodge City High School. She received her Associates Degree form Dodge City Community College. She was the Office Manager for the Dodge City Housing Authority for over 20 years, retiring in 2004.
She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Dodge City as well as the TOPS Club. She enjoyed reading and was an animal lover, especially dogs and cats.
On August 21, 1961, she married Richard Terry Graves at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
Survivors include: her husband, Terry, Dodge City; her son, Scott and wife Robin, Concordia, Missouri; a brother, Roger Drach, Oswego, Kansas; 3 grandchildren, TJ Sparks, RC Strand and Stephanie Morgan; and 1 great grandson, Ryan Strand.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, her daughter, Cindy Morgan, her step-father, Alfred Schlereth and a grandson, John Strand.
Memorial service will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with Rev. Randall Jahnke officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date in St. Michael Cemetery, Hodgeman County. There will be no public viewing, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm Friday at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
