Beavers gearing up for another season
Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–With Thursday being the first day that players are allowed to wear pads, the Scott City Beaver football team wrapped up their third day of two-a-days Wednesday. After a solid turnout during the summer weight training season and a good week of football camp in July, players are ready to strap on the pads and hit.
The 2014 version of the Scott City Beavers has 43 players out, and return six starters on offense and five on defense from a team that finished 11-2 in 2013, with a loss to Beloit in the Sub-State round of the Class 3A playoffs. Scott City has been no stranger to success over the years, and are looking to get back into the state championship game for the second time in three seasons. In fact, they have not had a losing season since 1986.
