Bats go silent; A’s lose at Hays
Hays, KS (westernkansasnews.com)-During a grueling Jayhawk League schedule, there are some nights you have to tip your cap to the opposing team’s pitcher.
Tuesday night was one of those nights.
Augie Gallardo allowed just three hits while striking out 11 in eight innings of work as Hays outlasted Dodge City 3-1.
“He (Gallardo) did a good job of keeping our guys off balance,” A’s Coach David Flores said. “He threw sliders almost 70 percent of the time.”
The Larks scored two of their runs in the first off a wild pitch by Ulysses Ramos. They added another one in the seventh on a passed ball.
