Banda’s Attorney Responds to Charges; Bail Posted

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Leading medical marijuana  and cannabis advocate Shona Banda of Garden City posted 50-thousand in bail Monday afternoon for charges filed over a week ago on possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.  Banda’s attorney, Sarah Swain of Lawrence believes her client knows what is at stake.

Swain is confident Banda knows the risk associated with having her case in the public eye.

Banda’s next court appearance will be August 24th before Chief District Judge Wendel Wurst.  Banda’s attorney Sarah Swain has two goals in litigating this case.

A schedule one drug is on equal footing with meth which by current law is defined as having no medicinal benefits.  In the meantime, Banda can still arrange to have visitation with her 11 year old son through the Department of Family Services.
