KSTATE FRY

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–The 50th Annual K-State Fry drew hundreds of Kansas State alumni and fans Wednesday night to HRC Feedyard west of Scott City. To commemorate the 50th year of the Catbacker Tour stop, three members from the K-State Parachute Club from Abilene kicked off the evening with their jumps, landing just south of the feedyard.

Speaking at the third Catbacker Tour of the week were K-State Alumni Association President Amy Button Renz, special guest Barry Flinchbaugh, the lone student athlete in attendance, center for the Wildcat football team BJ Finney,  Athletic Director John Currie, Men’s Basketball Coach Bruce Weber, Football Coach Bill Snyder and Women’s Basketball Coach Deb Patterson. A gift was presented to Jerry Doornbos, who has helped coordinate the K-State Fry for many years. Items were auctioned off in between speeches.

Western Kansas Broadcast Center had the chance to catch up with the Voice of the Wildcats Wyatt Thompson, Athletic Director John Currie, and coaches Deb Patterson, Bruce Weber and Bill Snyder.
