Attorney General’s Office holding Consumer Protection Week event in Garden City Tuesday

Garden City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Attorney General’s Office will celebrate National Consumer Protection Week in Garden City Tuesday March 6.

The office will sponsor free document destruction at Western State Bank, 1500 E. Kansas Ave from Noon-2 p.m. The stop is one of ten the office will make throughout the state this week. Securely shredding personal documents is an important step toward preventing identity theft.

“Our office works hard year-round to protect consumers,” Schmidt said. “Next week, we will place particular focus on helping Kansas protect themselves from identity theft and stay safe from scams.”
