A’s thumped by Larks
Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Hays Larks had a field day at the Dodge City A’s expense Tuesday night in a 15-5 win. The Larks hit five homeruns, three of them from Daryl Myers.
The A’s got on the board first on a solo homerun by Jordan Vujovich. Hays would seize momentum in the second inning scoring five runs on three homeruns, a two-run homer by John Rensel, a solo shot from Matt Munoz and a two-run homer by Myers to make it 5-1. Dodge City got a run back in the third inning on an RBI fielders choice from Adam Hollar to cut the deficit to 5-2.
Myers then delivered three-run bombs in the fourth and fifth inning to help stretch the lead to 12-2. The Larks delivered RBI doubles from Munoz and Ryne Randle in the sixth making the score 14-2. Rensel knocked in the last run for Hays with an RBI single in the seventh.
Sean Cochran(0-1) had a rough first start for the A’s in four innings he surrendered eight runs on eight hits, including four homeruns. Fabian Muniz(4-0) got the win for Hays(14-4) allowing three runs on ten hits with eight strikeouts.
Myers led the Larks at the plate going 3-6 with three homeruns and eight RBI. John Rensel went 2-5 with a homerun and three RBI. Adam Hollar went 2-5 for the A’s(8-9) with two RBI.
