A’s rally to beat Haysville in shortened game
Dodge City, KS(westernkansasnews.com) The Dodge City A’s topped the Haysville Aviators 6-5 in a game that was called after six innings because of thunderstorms.
The Aviators jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the top of the first thanks to two errors and RBI singles by Nigel Williams, Zach Nogalski and Darian Williams. The A’s got two runs back in the bottom half on RBI singles by Dayton Cook and Owen Jansen. Dodge City moved closer in the third inning on an RBI single by Adam Hollar to make it 4-3.
Haysville added a run in the top of the fifth on an RBI groundout by Nogalski to stretch the lead to 5-3. The A’s then rallied in the bottom of the sixth starting with an RBI double by Carlos Arrellano. Aaron Homme then balked to bring in the tying run. With two out Dylan Johnson delivered what would be a game winning RBI single to put Dodge City ahead 6-5. The game was then called after the sixth inning.
The A’s(14-11) are back in action at home Saturday night against Haysville(8-20). Pregame coverage will begin at 7:15 p.m. and the game will start at 7:30 p.m.
