Apollo 13 Astronaut Recalls The Story That Inspired a Nation

Dodge City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Dodge City Community College lecture series continued on Thursday night with one of the Apollo 13 astronauts Fred Haise. He was one of three astronauts on the mission that ended short when the vessel lost one of two oxygen tanks.

The worry then became how to get the three astronauts home. Their success sparked the 1995 hit film Apollo 13 starting Tom Hanks as mission leader Jim Lovell.

Now the ultimate question is since man landed on the moon, will we ever reach Mars?

The technology exists to land on Mars.

Haines is unsure the will power is there to get the job done.
