Another Threat Made at GCHS

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Wednesday at around 11 a.m. the Garden City Police Department was informed of threats of violence towards students and staff at the high school. A teacher reported the threat to the principals.

The Police and USD 457 began an investigation into the threat. Based on information discovered a 15 year old juvenile male was arrested for Criminal Threat.

The 15 year old allegedly made verbal threats towards students and staff about having a gun and was going to commit violent acts. He is being held in the Southwest Kansas Regional Juvenile Detention Center and could face charges of Criminal Threat.

The juvenile allegedly made the remarks in a frivolous manner and did not have a gun or plan to carry out the act. The case has been forwarded to the Finney County Attorney’s Office.
