Another City Lines Up for TIGER Grant Railroad Improvement Money
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Leaders from Southwest Kansas made their recent annual trip to Washington in talking with our legislative leaders. One of the topics was continuing to improve rail service in making more repairs through the TIGER grant program. Garden City Manager Matt Allen is hopeful that another effort to get this needed money will be successful again this year.
Lamar, Colorado is applying this time. Previous applicants were LaJunta and Garden City. Already repairs are being completed on the line for a little more than 12 million dollars Garden City applied for two years ago.
