Annie G. Schellhamer

Annie G. Schellhamer, 77, died Thursday, March 2, 2017 at the Kansas Soldiers Home, Ft. Dodge. 

She was born April 25, 1939 at Watonga, Oklahoma, the daughter of William Miles and Hester Nina (Worrell) Diemer. She moved to Coldwater at the age of 13 and to Dodge City at the age of 22. 

Annie enjoyed making poppies for the veterans, working in the library and museum at Ft. Dodge, she was a volunteer companion at the Fort, she loved gardening and being around her grandchildren. 

On November 24, 1961 she married Emmett E. Schellhamer at the First Baptist Church in Dodge City. He preceded her in death on August 14, 2004. 

Survivors include: her son Tony Schellhamer and wife Kris, Amarillo, Texas; her daughter, Teresa Schellhamer, Alexandria, Virginia; brother, George Diemer, Bazine, Kansas; 2 sisters, Nina McVicker, Ashland, Kansas and Marie Capps, Watertown, Wisconsin; 2 grandchildren, Leah and Lexi Schellhamer. 

She was also preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers, Miles “Earl” and Joe Diemer. 

Graveside services will be 10:00 am Tuesday March 7, 2017 at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Ft. Dodge, with Rev. Dick Robbins officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at Ziegler Funeral Chapel, Dodge City.
