Anna Maria Piñon

Anna Maria Piñon, age 58, of Ulysses, Kansas died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at her home in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born May 18, 1955 in Anahuac, Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Jose Angel Marquez and Guillermina De La Peña.

Anna grew up in Mexico and moved to Ulysses in 1988 from Arizona and Colorado. She was a homemaker for her children, and later provided day care. Anna’s grandchildren meant everything to her. She was a member of the Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses.

She is survived by two daughters, Elma Guaderrama and husband Joel of Ulysses, Kansas, Diana Gutierrez and husband Ramon of Ulysses, Kansas; ex-husband, Margarito Piñon; father, Jose nMarquez of Washington, Indiana; brothers, Ignacio Marquez, Joaquin Marquez, Jose Marquez all of Mexico, Jorge Marquez of Hutchinson, Kansas; sister, Dora Beltran of Seagraves, Texas; six grandchildren, Joel Guaderrama, Xavier Guaderrama, Natalia Guaderrama, Casandra Gutierrez, Kaileen Gutierrez, and Jonathan Gutierrez. Anna is preceded in death by her mother; brother, Gabriel Marquez; and nephew, Jonathan Marquez.

Visitation: 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2013 and from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM on Sunday November 03, 2013 at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses, Kansas.

Funeral Service: 10:00 AM on Monday, November 04, 2013 at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas with Reverend Peter Fernandez officiating.

Interment: Ulysses Cemetery in Ulysses, Kansas.

Vigil service will be held Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 7:00 PM at Mary, Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ulysses, Kansas.
