Ann Smith, 59 died Monday, November 30, 2015 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas. She was born December 6, 1955 in Holly, Colorado the daughter of Fred & Alice (Showers) Albers.
Ann moved with her family to Garden City when she was a young child. She has lived in the Garden City and Holcomb area since. Ann attended Garden City schools and graduated from Garden City High School in 1974. Ann worked for the Crazy House, Dillons, and for 18 years worked as a driver for UPS. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, canning, gardening, Friday night football games, and spending time with her grandchildren.
On March 3, 1996, she married Perry Smith in Garden City. He survives. Other survivors include three children Samantha Otero of Wichita, Kansas, Amanda Arana of Garden City, Kansas, and Ryan & wife Causha Smith of Great Bend, Kansas; three brothers Rick & wife Nancy Albers of Salt Lake City, Utah, Randy & wife Pat Albers of Mather, California, and James & wife Christie Albers of Garden City, Kansas; three sisters Ethel & husband Tom Heady, Roxie Pitts, and Jane & husband Don Johnson all of Garden City, Kansas; her mother-in-law Sue Smith of Garden City, Kansas; and 10 grandchildren Alex Frey, Alyson Arana, Avey Arana, Alya Arana, Audri Otero, Ahna Otero, Drew Otero, Kylee Smith, Kolby Smith, and Kenzie Smith. Ann is preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints in Garden City. Burial will follow at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City. Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday all at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. The family requests memorials given to the Ann Smith Memorial Fund in care of Garnand Funeral Home.
