Angels rally to knock off Kansas City

Anaheim, Calif. (westernkansasnews.com)–Kendrys Morales hit a three-run pinch-hit single in the bottom of the eighth as the Los Angeles Angels take game one of the three game series with a 6-3 win Monday night. Kansas City took the lead with two runs in the third inning, only to see the Angels tie it up. Royals starter Bruce Chen gave up three runs on five hits in five and a third innings pitched. After getting the first two batters out in the eighth, Greg Holland took the loss, giving up three runs. Alex Gordon, Lorenzo Cain and Brayan Pena each drove in a run for Kansas City. Game two of the series is tonight, as Will Smith is slated to start for the Royals, while the Angels will start Garrett Richards in a 9:05 first pitch at Angel Stadium of Anaheim.
