Andy Lavon Burns

Andy Lavon Burns, 50 ,passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas.

He was born April 6, 1966 at Fayetteville, Arkansas, the son of Lonnie and Virginia (Donahue) Burns.

Andy moved to Meade, KS with his family in 1978 from Fayetteville, Arkansas then to Plains, Kansas. He was a graduate of Southwestern Heights High School, class of 1984. After school he went to work as a Harvester then went into the Oilfield as a Driller. Andy had a love of music and was a DJ in the Tulsa, Oklahoma and Dodge City, Kansas areas. He also went on to obtain a Certificate as an Ordained Minister. He enjoyed attending Church, singing, and writing short stories about his life journeys. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church of Liberal. 

His survivors include his parents- Lonnie and Virginia Burns of Woodward, Oklahoma; one Son- Craig Holden of Elkhart, KS; Sister, Anna Marie Aranda and husband Trinidad of Turpin, OK; one Brother, Lonnie Earnest Burns of Siloam Springs, AR; .

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date and will be announced.

Cremation has taken place.
