Amelia G. Trevino, age 83, of Ulysses, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 11, 2019, at Bob Wilson Memorial Hospital in Ulysses, Kansas. She was born June 22, 1935, in Grove, Texas, the daughter of Eliseo and Paula (Lopez) Garza.

Amelia grew up in Texas and moved to Ulysses in 1980. She married Augustine V. Trevino on April 26, 1956, in Mathis, Texas. Amelia was a care giver for the home health care industry. She also cooked for a number of years in restaurants. Amelia enjoyed playing bingo and cooking. She was a devoted homemaker and mom who loved caring for her family, and time and visits spent with family and friends. She also had a green thumb which was evident in her many house plants.

Amelia is survived by her children, Augustine Trevino, Jr., of Holcomb, Adelina Green of Satanta, Amalia Hyde of Wichita, Arturo G. Trevino of Ulysses, Anita Trevino of Ulysses, Angie Caldwell of Ulysses, and Amy Trevino of Wichita; brother, Samuel Garza of Kismet; sisters, Senayda Garza and Antonia Carabajal both of Ulysses; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Amelia is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Augustine; son, Albert; two sisters and six brothers.

Funeral service will be Thursday, June 13, 2019, at 10:00 AM at Garnand Funeral Home Chapel in Ulysses with Pastor Sheyanne Brown officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, 2019, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM with family present at Garnand Funeral Home in Ulysses. Interment will follow at Dudley Township Cemetery in Satanta.
