Amber Alert Cancelled for Ellis County
(westernkansasnews.com) An amber alert issued at 5:11 a.m. Wednesday for Ellis County has been cancelled as both children have been found safely and their father is in custody.
The alert was issued after Bryce Jay McDowell, 33, ran the kids mother off the road and used force to take his sons Mason, 3, and Caden McDowell, 16 months.
The children were initially reported as endangered because it is known that Bryce carries a rifle, though it has not been reported whether he had the rifle with him when he took the boys.
