Alma Bencomo, 66, died May 20, 2017 in Ford County.  She was born on January 16, 1951 in Casa Blanca, Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Lamberto and Maria (Torres) Ruiz.  

Alma spent her childhood in Mexico.  She moved to Dodge City with her family about 30 years ago.  Alma married Abraham Bencomo in Dodge City.  He survives.  Alma worked at Central School and Dodge City High School in the lunchroom for several years.  About 10 years ago, Alma helped start the Comunidad Cristiana Philadelphia Llamado de Dios Church in Dodge City.  She was the pastor of the church and was very dedicated to her church family.  Alma was always willing to help out anyone in need.  She was a compassionate and caring person.  Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Alma is survived by her husband, Abraham of Dodge City; one daughter, Alma D. Rodriguez of Dodge City; four sisters, Elva Cardenas of Dodge City, Amelia Mansillas of El Paso, Texas, Edenia Mansillas of Dodge City, and Rosa Dice of El Paso, Texas; three brothers, Jesus Mansillas, Alex Mansillas, and Arturo Aceves all of El Paso, Texas; and five grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be held at Comunidad Cristiana Philadelphia Llamado de Dios Church in Dodge City on Thursday May 25, 2017 at 10:30 AM with Juan Castañeda presiding.  Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery in Dodge City.  Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Chapel, Dodge City on Wednesday May 24, 2017 from noon to 5:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the church.  Memorials are suggested to the family in care of the funeral home.  Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
