Allen: State is Stepping on Toes

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) His criticism of the legislature was sharp. State governments across the country are upset when the federal government tells them what to do. Local officials including Garden City Manager Matt Allen sometimes feel the same way about the state. For example outlawing displaying signs prohibiting guns if cities could not fund adequate security.

Allen believes because of population shifts this problem for rural areas is only going to get worse.
