Allen: Commission to Consider Final Approval of Rail Repairs

Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) Last year the focus was getting federal officials to award a TIGER grant for the 12 million dollars of repair to keep the Southwest Chief up and running. Garden City Manager Matt Allen says all that remains is to sign off on the deal.

Allen believes the total repair package is 25 million dollars and that communication between all who are involved has been good. The city commission will put their rubber stamp on approving the deal at Tuesday’s meeting.
