All GWAC basketball teams announced

Scott City, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–With the conclusion of the 2019-20 season, the Great West Activities Conference has released their all-league teams for girls and boys basketball. 

On the girls side, Colby would get two first-team selections and place four on the all-league roster, followed by Hugoton with four selections and one first-team member. Both Goodland and Scott City placed one on the first-team and had three selections, and Holcomb had two picks.

Colby and Hugoton shared the GWAC title, as both teams finished with an 8-2 record in league play. Scott City would qualify for state, before falling in double overtime Thursday night. 

For the boys, Hugoton would have two first-team picks and place four overall on the all-league roster. Colby would also have four selections, while Goodland, Holcomb, Scott City and Ulysses each had two picks. Holcomb and Scott City landed one player on the first team. 

Hugoton won the GWAC title with a 9-1 league record, while Colby finished second. Colby would play in the state tournament before falling Wednesday afternoon in the opening round.
