AG: Judge Orders Physician Assistant to Stop Seeing Patients For Now
Garden City, KS (westernkansasnews.com) A state judge has ordered a physician assistant in Garden City to stop doing business until a lawsuit filed against him is decided. Several accusations have been directed at Joel Erskin, part owner and operator of Renovo Medical and University Medical.
The lawsuit states Erskin misrepresented he was a medical doctor and operated without the appropriate physician supervision as required by Kansas law. Erskin is also accused of failing to tell patients he used Botox from overseas that was not approved for use in the US by the Food and Drug Administration.
Sources say Erskin was former dean at National American University which has a current partnership with Garden City Community College. He has also filed to be a candidate for House District 123 the seat John Doll is leaving to run for the State Senate.
