Accident in Meade County Kills Two
Plains, KS (westernkansasnews.com) The Kansas Highway Patrol reports an accident shortly after 7:30 Thursday night killed two at US54 near milepost 40 in Meade County. A Chevy Tahoe attempted to pass two other cars using the left lane. When the passing lane ended both cars merged back over causing the Tahoe to go into a ditch and overturn.
33 year old Patricia Delatorre and 16 year old Valerie Portillo both of Plains died in the wreck. Two children 12 year old Natalie Portillo and 6 year old Jackie Portillo were lifeflighted to Via Christi in Wichita.
