Pedestrian and bike path construction is underway along U.S. 56 in Hugoton
The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced a pedestrian and bike path project has started on U.S. Highway 56 from West City Limits Street, to South Coulter Drive in Hugoton.
U.S. Highway 56 will be reduced to two lanes, marked by signs and cones. The westbound traffic will shift to the eastbound lanes as the contractor works through the project. Motorists can expect a reduction in speed limit and minimal traffic delays through the work zone. Access to all businesses along the corridor will remain open.
Multicon Inc., of Park City is the contractor on this $580,671.01 project. Weather permitting, it is expected to be completed by late spring 2025.
