Dodge City girls wrestling wins Christmas Clash Tournament in Great Bend

Great Bend, Kan. (westernkansasnews.com)–One of the biggest girls wrestling tournaments took place in Great Bend on Friday and Saturday that included several area teams at the Christmas Clash Tournament.

Dodge City would edge Garden City in the team standings by 8.5 points. Scott City would crack the top 10 by finishing ninth.

Dodge City would grab a couple of individual titles, as Elizabeth Ramirez took the 105 pound weight class, and Yareli Garcia won the 155-pound weight division. The Lady Buffaloes also had two winners, with Maya Tarbet taking the 125-pound title and Maribel Castro winning at 190 pounds. Scott City got a third place finish from Ashlyn Rose at 155 pounds, and Holcomb got a trio of fifth place finishes from Jalysa Lopez at 120, McKenzie Simon at 135, as well as Abigail Redden at 235.
