Garden City Police make three arrests in two seperate cases

Garden City, Kan.–The Garden City Police Department has arrested three individuals in two seperate cases early Sunday morning.

The first arrest took place around 2:15 a.m., when GCPD Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of North Fleming. Officers made contact with 20-year-old Francisco Madrigal, after he was reportedly drag racing in the area. Through further investigation, it was determined Madrigal was driving under the influence, and he was arrested and lodged in the Finney County Jail for DUI, Drag Racing, No Valid Driver’s License, and No Proof of Insurance.

About two hours later at 4:10 a.m., Officers conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of E. Kansas Avenue. Officers made contact with 18-year-old Israel Lopez-Reyes, after he was observed speeding. After further investigation, a search of the vehicle was conducted, where Officers found suspected drugs, drug paraphernalia, and alcohol. Lopez-Reyes was arrested and lodged in the Finney County Jail for Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute Hallucinogenic, Minor in Consumption, Transporting an Open Container, Possession of THC, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Exhibition of Speed. Another occupant of the vehicle, 19-year-old Angel Enriquez-Rojas, was also taken into custody and lodged in the Finney County Jail for Minor in Consumption.
