Ingalls volleyball 3rd in Class 1A, D II; area state volleyball results

The volleyball season wrapped up for the state of Kansas on Saturday, as seven seven state champions were crowned.

One area school made it through to the semis on Saturday. In Emporia, the Ingalls Lady Bulldogs placed third at the Class 1A, Division II state tournament. After going 2-1 in pool play on Friday with wins over Victoria and Otis-Bison, they would lose to eventual state champion Hanover, before defeating Argonia for the third place trophy. Garden City would have a rough day in a loaded field on Friday in Salina at the Class 6A state tournament. The Lady Buffaloes went 0-3 in pool play, falling to Olathe West, Blue Valley North and Mill Valley. Mill Valley would win the state title, and Olathe West was third. Here are Garden City’s scores.

In Dodge City at Class 1A, Division I, there were two area teams competing in the state tournament. Both Greeley County and South Gray would go 1-2 on Friday in pool play, as the Jackrabbits were competing in their first-ever state tournament. They would lose to Centralia and Flinthills, before knocking off NWKL foe St. Francis in their last match. As for the Rebels, their return to the state finals where they placed second would fall short, as they lost to eventual state champion Little River and Clifton-Clyde, and defeated St. John.
